A Facebook friend of mine just shared this and as we have been writing a bit about communication in social media on the blog lately I just had to share it here. (Click on the picture to enlarge) It’s hilarious, and a great example of communication in social media done right. The answer Shane got from the Samsung representative is written in the same tone as Shane’s own post. The Samsung representative manages to turn Shane’s request down in a joking manner that conveys a sense of humour. The funny picture at the end shows Shane that his post has been read and appreciated by a real person. Even though the message has the purpose of turning down a request it actually has the potential to strengthen Shane’s relationship to Samsung. The key to communication in social media is being personal. This is how its done.
